Your Identity Safe vault data is stored online, and does not require you to back it up. However, with the latest versions of the Norton products, you can enable automatic backup of your Identity Safe vault data to your computer. You can also export the Identity Safe data in .DAT or .CSV file formats on to your local computer.
Start your Norton product.
If you have installed Norton Identity Safe, skip to Step 5.
Under Detailed Settings, click .
Next to Identity Safe, click .
In the Sign in or create account window, if your Norton account email address is displayed then click .
If not, at the bottom of the Norton Identity Safe window, click on the user name and selectand enter your Norton account email address.
In the Sign in window, type your Norton account password, and click .
In the Vault Closed window, enter your vault password and click .
In the Norton Identity Safe window, click the icon available at the bottom of the window.
Next to Export Vault, select one of the following file formats:
Identity Safe Backup Format - DAT File
Plain text - CSV file (Logins & Notes only)
You can back up your data with a password for more security. By default, the automatic backup option is enabled in the latest versions. This feature saves a copy of your Identity Safe data in your local computer at C:\Users\User Name\My Documents\Norton Identity Safe Backups\Norton account name.
In the Password Protected Item window, type your vault password to export your Identity Safe data, and click .
In the Save As window, choose a destination to save the exported file and click .
