Unlocking a disabled computer

You can unlock a disabled computer only after you recover the computer, because the computer shuts down when you disable the computer. No one can access the computer until the correct user password is entered on the boot screen.

If you are not sure about the user password, sign in to the Norton Anti-Theft Web portal using another computer and verify the password.

To unlock a disabled computer

  1. After you recover the computer, start the disabled computer.

  2. In the boot screen that appears, select option 1, and then enter the user password that you set during the Intel Anti-Theft activation.

Once the computer is unlocked, ensure to connect your computer to the Internet to see the updated status on the website.
