Activating Intel Anti-Theft

The Intel Anti-Theft option is available only with the computer that has Intel Anti-Theft chipset. By activating Intel Anti-Theft, you can provide additional security for your data stored on the computer.

When you activate Intel Anti-Theft, you can perform the following:

  • Disable your lost or stolen computer remotely. You can disable the lost or stolen computer only when the computer is online.

  • Configure the computer to disable automatically if the computer did not connect to the Internet for the configured duration.

When you disable your computer, the computer shuts down. No one can access the computer until the correct user password is given.

To activate Intel Anti-Theft

  1. Open your Web browser, and go to the following URL: http://antitheft.norton.com.

  2. In the Norton Anti-Theft page, click Sign In Here.

  3. In the window that appears, enter your Norton Account credentials to sign in to your account.

  4. In the left pane, under My Devices, click the name of the computer.

  5. Click the Intel Anti-Theft icon available next to the computer name.

  6. In the page that appears, click Activate Intel Anti-Theft.

  7. Type the user password that you can use to unlock the computer when you recover your computer.

  8. Click Save.
