Message: "This product cannot be remotely managed" when I add the Norton product to a device in the Norton portal

You may see this message if the Norton product that is installed on your device is registered to a different account than the account you used to set up your device.

To fix this problem, you will need to uninstall the Norton One or Norton Management agent currently installed, and then reinstall the agent to reassociate your device with the same account your product is registered to.

If you are seeing this message for Norton Anti-Theft, please sign to the Norton Anti-Theft website to resolve this problem. You need to sign in to the Norton Anti-Theft website at least once from the device to manage it.

Uninstall the Norton One or Norton Management agent

  1. Press the Windows + R keys to open the Run dialog box.

  2. Type in the following text, and then press Enter.

    appwiz.cpl

  3. In the list of installed programs, click Norton One or Norton Management depending on your purchase.

  4. Click Remove or Uninstall.

  5. Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the uninstall process.

    If you are prompted, restart the computer.

  6. Sign in to your Norton One or Norton Management portal and install the agent on the device.
