To fix this problem, restart your computer. If you continue to receive this error, you need to check your Network proxy settings and run an advanced scan for potentially unwanted applications with Norton Power Eraser.
Press the Windows + R keys to open the Run dialog box.
Type in the following text, and then press.
Internet Properties window is launched on your computer.
On the Connections tab, click .
In the Local Area Network (LAN) settings dialog box, under Proxy server, ensure that none of the check boxes are selected.
If you find any entries under Proxy server, uncheck the boxes and select.
Unknown proxy server address can be an indication of potential threat or unwanted application. You must run an Advanced scan on your computer with Norton Power Eraser.
Clickand then click .
If the problem persists, go to step 2.
Press the+ keys to open the Run dialog box.
In the Run dialog box, type the following and then click :
Right-click the network adapter that is currently active, and then click.
If the User Account Control prompt appears, click or .
In the Network Connection Properties window, under "This connection uses the following items", click or .
To specify DNS server address settings, click.
In the Preferred DNS server and Alternate DNS server boxes, type the two Norton ConnectSafe IP addresses.
Preferred DNS: 22.214.171.124
Alternate DNS: 126.96.36.199
In the Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) Properties window, click .
If the problem persists, run a scan with Norton Power Eraser in step 3.
Download Norton Power Eraser.
Select the location as Desktop, and then click.
To run Norton Power Eraser, double click thefile.
If the User Account Control window prompts, click or .
Read the license agreement, and click.
In the Norton Power Eraser window, click the icon.
When Norton Power Eraser completes the scan, the results are displayed in the Unwanted Apps Scan Complete window.
In the Unwanted Apps Scan Complete window, next to the unwanted application or toolbar, click .
Follow the on-screen instructions.
When the uninstall completes, restart the computer.
