Create Norton Password Manager cloud vault

Cloud vault offers easy and safe way to access your personal information from around the world. The Password Manager data you store in the cloud vault is associated with your Norton account. You can access your Password Manager data using Norton Password Manager client or website, or Norton products supporting Norton Password Manager.

Symantec does not store your vault password. It is known only to you. This means no one including Symantec can see your vault data. In case you forget your vault password, Symantec cannot reset or retrieve it for you. You only need to delete your existing vault and create a new one. In such cases, we use your Norton account password to validate your request to delete your vault. If you have backed up your Password Manager data, you can import the data while creating a new vault. You can enable automatic backup feature to create backups of your vault automatically.

You can create only one cloud vault for a Norton account. In Mac, you cannot import or export your vault data.

To create a cloud vault in Norton Password Manager client on Windows or Mac

    As of June 2017, the standalone version of Norton Password Manager is not available for download for new users. Norton Password Manager feature is still offered with our Norton Security products. For more information, visit our Norton Online Store.

  1. In Windows, click the Norton Password Manager icon on your desktop or taskbar.

  2. In the Sign in or create account window, type your email address, and then click Next.

    If you do not have a Norton account, Password Manager automatically redirects you to Create Your Norton account window to create a new account.

  3. In the Sign in window, type your Norton account password and click Sign In.

  4. In the Vault creation: Vault password window, type a vault password which matches the guidelines mentioned and click Next.

  5. In the Vault creation: confirm password window, type the password again to confirm and click Next.

  6. In the Vault creation: password hint window, type a password hint and click Next.

    Your vault password cannot be reset, so use a hint that helps you recollect your password.

  7. In the Setup complete! window, do one of the following:

    • If you do not have any data to import, click Finish.

    • If you have a previously exported vault data or CSV file, click Import to get them into this new vault.

      Import/Export option is available only on Windows.

To create a cloud vault in Norton Password Manager app on Android or iOS

  1. On the Home screen or Applications screen, tap the Norton Password Manager icon.

  2. In the Sign in window, type your Norton account email address and password.

  3. Tap Sign in and follow the on-screen instructions.
