I cannot start my Norton product

If you cannot start your Norton product, restarting your computer usually fixes it. If the problem persists even after you restart the computer, you need to remove and reinstall the product using the Norton Remove and Reinstall tool.

Restart the computer

  1. Exit all programs.

  2. Restart the computer.

    If the problem still persists, go to Step 2.


Download and run the Norton Remove and Reinstall tool

    If you have received your Norton product from your service provider, skip this step, and run the Norton Removal Tool.

  1. Download the Norton Remove and Reinstall tool.

    Save the file to the Windows desktop.

  2. On the Windows desktop, double-click the NRnR icon.

  3. Read the license agreement, and click Agree.

  4. Click Remove & Reinstall, and follow the on-screen instructions.

  5. Click Restart Now.

    After the computer restarts, follow the on-screen instructions to reinstall your Norton product.
