Unlocking a device

After you retrieve your device, you can use the unlock code to unlock the device. If you have forgotten the unlock code, you can sign in to the Norton Anti-Theft website, and then unlock your device using the Found It option. Unlocking your device from the Norton Anti-Theft website does not require the unlock code.

When you unlock your device, Norton Anti-Theft does the following:

  • Continues to monitor your device location. In normal mode, the location frequency is set to 1 hour, by default. You can also configure the location frequency to 3, 6, 12, or 24 hours.

  • Stops automatically taking pictures from your device. However, you can still use the Take a Picture option to take pictures on demand.

  • Unlocks your device.

To unlock a device using the unlock code

  1. On the device, in the Unlock Code box, type the unlock code.

  2. Click Unlock.

    Make sure that you change the status of the device to Found on the Norton Anti-Theft website.

To unlock a device from the Norton Anti-Theft website

  1. Sign in to the Norton Anti-Theft website.

  2. In the left pane, under My Devices, click a device that you want to unlock.

  3. On the page that appears, click Found it.
