Identity Safe in my Norton product does not autofill the web forms

If Identity Safe does not autofill any websites, check if you can see the Norton Toolbar on your Web browser. If you cannot find the Norton Toolbar, read I cannot find Norton Toolbar on my Web browser.

If the Identity Safe does not autofill the Web form in a specific website, you can report it through Norton Feedback. In the meantime, you can manually fill the Web forms.

Certain websites, primarily banking sites display only the login field or the user name field in the Web page. After you submit the user name, it navigates to the second Web page which contains the password field or both the user name and password fields. These sites are categorized as split page login-based websites. If you want to configure Identity Safe for a split page login, go to Step 2.

These steps are for the current version of the Norton products. If you have an older version or if you do not know your product version, go to Norton Update Center.

STEP 1

Configure Identity Safe for a split page login

You can use Identity Safe to save your login details only if the website uses a Web-based form for the split page login. To manually add login details for a split page login, go to Step 2.

  1. Open the website for which you want to save your login.

  2. If the vault is closed, click the Vault is closed option on the Web browser.

In Google Chrome, the Norton Toolbar does not appear on New Tab or Summary page. It appears only on HTML-based webpages.

  3. In the Vault Closed window, enter the password and click Open.

  4. Enter the login credentials for the website and click Login or Sign in.

  5. The login credentials will be saved automatically in the vault.

If you do not wish to save the login credentials, click Options and select Ignore this site.

STEP 2

Manually add login details for split page login

  1. Start your Norton product.

  2. Click Settings.

  3. Depending on your Norton product, do one of the following:

    • If the vault is open, proceed to Step 5.

    • If the vault is closed, enter the password and click Open.

  5. At the top center of the Norton Identity Safe window, click New Login.

  6. In the Create Login window, enter the Login name of the website.

  7. Below the login name, type the URL of the website or paste the exact URL of the website from the Web browser

  8. In the Username dialog box, enter the user name for the website.

  9. In the Password dialog box, enter the password for the website.

If you want identity safe to prompt the vault password while opening a website, enable the Require Vault Password checkbox.
