Add items to the Signature Exclusions

To exclude a security risk from scans, you must add the specific security risk to the Signature Exclusions window. You can select a known risk by name and add it to the list.

When you exclude a known security risk from Norton scans, the protection level of your computer reduces. You should exclude items only if you are confident that they are not infected.

Add a signature to the Signature Exclusions

  1. Start Norton.

    If you see the My Norton window, next to Device Security, click Open.

  2. In the Norton main window, click Settings.

  3. In the Settings window, click Antivirus.

  4. In the Antivirus settings window, click the Scans and Risks tab.

  5. Under Exclusions / Low Risks, in the Signatures to Exclude from All Detections row, click Configure.

  6. In the Signature Exclusions window, click Add.

  7. In the Security Risks window, click on a security risk that you want to exclude and then click Add.

  8. In the Signature Exclusions window, click Apply, and then click OK.
