Turn off or turn on Automatic Scans

If you turn on the Automatic Scans, your Norton product automatically performs the following activities each time you turn on your Mac:

  • Downloads the most up-to-date virus definitions.

  • Scans entire Mac and removes viruses from infected files.

  • Monitors all the incoming and outgoing traffic on your Mac.

Your Norton product displays a message if there is an issue that requires your attention. For example, if there is a security risk, your Norton product pop-ups a warning message with a list of options. You can choose an option and take appropriate action on the unresolved risk. You can open your Norton product at any time to see the status of your Mac or to view the protection details.

  1. In the Norton product main window, in the left pane, click Advanced.
