Scan a specific file or folder on Mac

By using your Norton product, you can scan a specific file or a folder. For example, if you have received a compressed file in an email message and if you suspect a virus, you can use the File Scan option to scan that file.

Scan a specific file or folder

  1. Start Norton.

If you see the My Norton window, next to Device Security, click Open.

  2. In the Norton product main window, click Scans.

  3. On the left pane, click File Scan.

  4. Click Select a file and navigate to the file or folder location.

  5. Select the folder or file that you want to scan and then click Scan.

You can also drag and drop the folder or file.
