Activate Norton that was purchased from the service provider

The activation of your Norton product occurs during the setup process. If for some reason the activation was skipped or did not complete, here are the steps for activating your Norton product.

Activate your Norton product

  1. Open your Norton device security product.

  2. In the Norton product main window, click Activate Now.

  3. Click Next.

  4. Type the PIN that is provided to you by your service provider and click Activate.

  5. Type in a name for your computer, and then click Activate.

  6. Close the Activation Complete! window.

  7. Click Finish.

    Your activation is successful.

Sometimes, activation errors may occur due to a temporary problem with the Norton servers. In such cases, try activating your product after a few hours. If you are still unable to activate, contact your service provider for help with activation.

Product activation displays an error number

If your Norton product displays an error number, refer the table below to know more about the error and the action required.

Error # Error message Description Action
110 or (1973,110) The product identifier supplied is invalid Activation failure due to incorrect product value in registry. Executing the Download Manager through your service provider's server will update registry entries and may resolve this issue.
Run the Download Manager
- Click the URL provided by your service provider to download the Norton program.
- Once the download completes, press Ctrl + J keys.
- In the Downloads window, double-click the file that you downloaded to open the Norton Download Manager window.
- Close the Download Manager window. You do not need to select Start.
- Try to activate the product again.
111 Miscellaneous activation error This problem can happen if there is a scheduled maintenance of our systems or communication issues with our subscription servers. Try to activate the product again after 12 hours.
112 or (1973,112) Invalid user PIN supplied The PIN provided is invalid. Contact your service provider for help with activating of your product.
113 or (1973,113) User does not exist Our backend server has identified that no such user exist. Contact your service provider for help with activating of your product.
115 or (1973,115) Miscellaneous error during transfer... This problem happens when you double-click the "Activation" or "Deactivation" icon while activating or deactivating the product. Try to activate your Norton product again.
118 An invalid User subscription PIN was supplied This problem happens when you type the PIN number that is provided to you by your service provider incorrectly. Try activating your Norton Online product again by following the steps provided above. If the problem persists, contact your service provider.
119 An invalid product ID was supplied Activation failure due to incorrect product value in registry. Try activating your Norton Online product again by following the steps provided above. If the problem persists, contact your service provider.
120 or (1973,120) Maximum number of transfers reached This problem occurs when you reach the maximum number of transfers that are set for your license. You tried to transfer the license or activated the additional licenses more number of times than permitted Contact your service provider for help with the activation of your product.
121 or (1973,121) Maximum number of login attempts has been reached You have exceeded the maximum limit of allowed login attempts. If you have lost or forgotten your PIN, contact your service provider for further assistance.
122 or (1973,122) Your user account has been deleted or disabled Your user account has been deleted or disabled. Contact your service provider for help with the activation of your product.
123 or (1973,123) An invalid fingerprint was supplied A technical issue has caused activation failure. Try activating your Norton Online product again by following the steps provided above. If the problem persists, contact your service provider.
