Monitor background jobs of your Norton service

The Background Tasks window provides the details of the background tasks that Norton performs and lets you view and monitor the background tasks. Norton runs most of the background tasks when your computer is idle. Performing all background tasks when your computer is idle helps your computer to run at peak efficiency when you use your computer. However, you can manually start or stop a task at any time. You can also specify the Idle Time Out duration. After the Idle Time Out duration is reached, Norton identifies the computer as idle and runs the background tasks.
