Norton Family Assistant is a secure, AI agent that helps parents manage the logistics of modern family life. It connects to the services families already use (inboxes, messaging apps, calendars, and school platforms), aggregates fragmented updates into a single experience, and safely automates routine tasks while keeping the parent in control of every critical decision.
Below are FAQs about how Norton Family Assistant works and how to get started.
Norton Family Assistant is a personal AI assistant for parents and families. It connects to the everyday services your family already uses (calendar, email, school portals, daycare apps) and helps you stay on top of what matters without having to dig through inboxes or juggle apps.
Norton Family Assistant can also use information you provide or connect to identify patterns, priorities, and relationships that help personalize your experience.
Norton Family Assistant is currently being introduced as a limited beta in the U.S and Canada. It is also available through the Norton Family Assistant landing page, where customers can subscribe.
If you have received an invitation offer or reached Norton Family Assistant through the landing page, follow the instructions provided there to learn more about it and how to activate it.
Key benefits of using Norton Family Assistant include:
Family briefings: a daily summary of what's coming up across your calendar, school messages, and connected services.
Email summaries: surfaces the messages that need your attention (school, doctor, camp, etc.) from senders you choose to include, and ignores the rest.
Calendar coordination: reads your family calendar, flags conflicts, and (with your confirmation) creates events you ask it to add.
Family graph: the people, roles, and relationships you choose to add (kids, partner, sitter, school contacts) so Family Assistant knows who's who.
Connected portals and apps: Family Assistant can check authorized school websites, parent portals, and connected apps, help surface relevant information, and take action with your confirmation.
Family Assistant works on any PCs that run in browsers such as Norton Neo, Chrome, and Firefox.
You can also download and install the Norton Family Assistant app from the Apple App Store on an iOS device running iOS 17 or later.

Log in to Norton Family Assistant.
In the left pane, click Family.

Family Assistant can connect to accounts and services you choose and are authorized to access. Connecting your Gmail is required to get started. For some services, you may need to provide login credentials or other authentication information so Family Assistant can access and process information from the account to provide the service.
Follow the steps below to connect to an app or services:
Sign in to Norton Family Assistant.
On the left pane, click Connections.
On the Connections page, next to the app or service in the list, click Connect.
You can give Family Assistant actual tasks to complete with the Norton Secure Browser, the same way you'd hand something off to another person.
Fill out forms: school permission slips, activity sign-ups, forms on parent portals, and field trip waivers. You tell it what you want submitted, it fills everything out, and checks with you before anything is submitted.
Plan and coordinate: ask it to plan the week's dinners, find a weekend activity for the kids, or put together a schedule that works around school pickups. Using the family context you provide, Family Assistant can tailor suggestions to your situation.
Draft and send messages: reply to the soccer coach, respond to the class parent chat, follow up with the pediatrician's office. You review and approve before messages are sent.
Book and schedule: add the dentist appointment to the calendar, check if the time works for everyone, and send the invite.
Research and summarize:: look up the school's late pickup policy, check what the camp packing list says, pull the details from last month's newsletter so you don't have to go digging.
Norton Family Assistant is designed to help identify relevant information, but it may not detect, prioritize, or surface every communication, event, update, or task. Review important information before relying on it.
Guardrails on the agent:
You can revoke any connection at any time from Settings → Connections., which immediately invalidates Family Assistant's access tokens for that service.
Norton Family Assistant is a Norton product, and Norton's privacy policy governs how we collect, use, and share personal data. More detailed privacy information about Family Assistant is available on the Norton Products Privacy Page. Your data is stored on encrypted infrastructure operated by Gen Digital and our cloud providers.
More specifically, Family Assistant runs a per-user instance architecture: your family graph, connected-account tokens, agent context, and chat history all live inside your own dedicated instance in the cloud, isolated from other users.
We may use a small, sampled portion of interaction data to evaluate AI quality (for example, to measure whether the agent answered correctly). You can opt out at any time from Settings → Privacy → Quality evaluations. Opting out is honored going forward; previously sampled data is purged within 30 days. Opting out does not affect any other Family Assistant feature.
We do not sell your personal data, and your data is not used to train any AI models.
