Norton Money : Most used features

Overview

Norton Money gives you a 360° view of your financial situation and tracks your spending to get you closer to your financial goals every single day. All built with Norton-powered security from the ground up, protected with bank-grade encryption and regular security audits.  

This article describes the most used features in the Home and Spending tabs of the Norton Money app.

Supported Apprcation and Platforms

  • Apprication: Norton Money mobile app
  • Platforms: Android 10.0 or later, iPhones or iPads running the current and previous two versions of Apple iOS

Home tab : Total cash balance and month overview

When you open Norton Money, the Home tab shows your overall cash and a quick summary of the current month.

Monthly overview cards

Below the graph, the [Current month] Overview section summarizes how your month is going so far.

You see four cards:

  • Spent so far – Amount you have spent this month, plus what you spent last month.
  • Income – Money received this month, plus income from last month.
  • Left to pay – Remaining amount for bills you still need to pay this month.
  • Savings – Amount saved this month and how much you saved last month.

These cards help you compare this month to last month and see if you are on track with spending, income, and savings.

Recent activity

The Recent activity section lists your latest transactions across all connected accounts.

Spending tab : Bills, cashflow, and top categories

Tap Spending on the bottom navigation bar to open an expanded view of your monthly spending.

Use this panel to check how far you are from finishing your monthly bills.

Cash flow : Money in vs. money out

On the Spending tab, the Cash flow section shows how much money in and money out you have for the selected month.

Tap the Money in or Money out rows to see more detail.

Top Spending Categories : Donut chart

Still on the Spending tab, the Top Spending Categories section shows a donut chart for the selected date.

Category breakdown : Detailed list

From the Top Spending Categories section, you can open a Category breakdown view for a more detailed list of categories.

A list of categories such as:

    • Income – total amount and number of transactions.
    • Transfers – total amount moved between accounts.
    • Entertainment, Food and drinks, Shopping, Travel, and other categories.
  • For each category:
    • Number of transactions.
    • Total amount spent or received (positive amounts in green for income or refunds).

This view helps you compare categories side by side and see where you spend or earn the most.

Norton Genie : Ask and learn about money

You can access Norton Genie from the Home or Spending screens by tapping the Ask Genie button in the bottom corner.
