Applicable for: Windows
The Early Adopter Program (EAP) is your opportunity to get a sneak peek at our latest features and to provide feedback to our development teams to help shape the future of our applications. While similar to other beta tests we’ve run in the past, Norton EAP is much easier for our customers to try out. No need to create a separate account or to uninstall your current Norton application. Simply click Join and we’ll do the work for you!
For detailed information about the new features announcement, refer to our EAP Forum.
A limited number of paid or active users will receive an in-app invitation to join the Norton Early Adopter Program. This is the only way to join the program for the first time.
While using our pre-release applications, you’ll find more bugs than in our standard release applications, though we’ll continue to stand by the level of protection that you’ve come to expect from released-to-market Norton applications. Using our pre-release applications, you can still get help from our Member Services & Support team, and our Virus Protection Promise* is still valid if you’re eligible. This said, and just so you are forewarned, Member Services & Support may not be fully trained on the newest features that you might be testing out, and may need to direct you to our EAP forums for more details. Additionally, if you decide to switch back from EAP to our standard release applications, you’ll be prompted to reinstall the application and will need to re-select your local settings. These settings include online and local backup configuration data, quarantined files, and firewall settings, though cloud data, such as Password Manager logins and files backed up online, will still have been retained.
Your paid subscription will continue to be counted down as it normally would while you have personal devices opted into EAP.
Open your Norton device security app.
On the left pane, click Settings.
Click the General tab.
Scroll down to the Norton Early Adopter Program section, and click the Leave feedback link.
The Leave feedback link in the pre-release application will send you to our EAP Forum. We’re looking forward to hearing from you and to hearing details about how our pre-release application is working for you!.
Open your Norton device security app.
On the left pane, click Settings.
Click the General tab.
Scroll down to the Norton Early Adopter Program section, and click Leave.
We’ll then prompt you to uninstall your current Norton device security application, during which you may need to restart your computer. You can find more guidance at: Download and run the Norton 360 Remover tool for Windows.
* Virus Protection Promise: Restrictions apply. Must have an automatically renewing device security subscription with antivirus for the virus removal service. See Virus Protection Promise for complete details.
