Message: "Norton blocked a vulnerable driver" appears on Norton 360 app for Windows

This alert appears if your Norton 360 app blocks a suspected driver on your computer that matches a security threat behavior. To resolve this issue, you can uninstall the application that loads the suspected driver. Click See details in the alert to locate the path and identify the application that loads the suspected driver.

If you think the driver that triggers this notification is safe, you can temporarily disable the Block vulnerable kernel drivers option.

Turning off Block vulnerable kernel drivers leaves your computer vulnerable to attacks. If you want to turn it off to troubleshoot a problem, make sure that you turn it on again.

Turn off Block vulnerable kernel drivers

  1. Open your Norton 360 app.

  2. On the left pane, click Settings.

  3. Click the General tab, under Product Tamper Protection, next to Block vulnerable kernel drivers move the slider to turn it off.
