Stealth Blocked Ports

Norton Smart Firewall includes Stealth Blocked Ports to protect you from attackers who try to access your computer through open ports.

When you turn on Stealth Blocked Ports, Norton hides the status of your computer ports. Unused and blocked ports on your computer do not respond to network requests for data. By default, Stealth Blocked Ports is turned on.

If Stealth Blocked Ports is turned off, Norton allows other computers to view the list of open and closed ports on your computer.

Turn Stealth Blocked Ports on or off

  1. Start Norton.

If you see the My Norton window, next to Device Security, click Open.

  2. In the Norton main window, click Settings.

  3. In the Settings window, click Firewall.

  4. On the General Settings tab, in the Stealth Blocked Ports row, move the switch to On or Off.

  5. Click Apply and click OK.
