Manage your child's online activities during school time

Turn on Instant School Time

1. Sign in to your account.

2. Select the child for whom you want to configure the School Time settings.

3. Click Instant School Time.

4. In the Enable Instant School Time window, select the duration from the drop-down menu, and click Enable now.

   By default, Norton Family allows your child to access only educational web categories and websites. If you want to allow or block specific web categories or websites, do the following steps:

5. Click the drop-down menu next to Allowed or Blocked Content and click Edit Settings and do the following.

   • To allow or block the categories that the child needs, select or unselect the category

   • Under Restricted Websites, enter the URL of the website that you want to block and then click plus icon .
   • Under Allowed Websites, enter the URL of the website that you want to allow and then click plus icon .

6. Click Save.

Turn off Instant School Time

1. Sign in to your account.

2. Select the child for whom you want to turn off the School Time settings.

3. Click Instant School Time.

4. Click Disable.

Schedule School Time

Parents can schedule school time for each child on a daily basis using the School Time Scheduler. Once scheduled, parents do not have to go into the Norton Family portal or app every day to enable the School Time feature.

1. Sign in to your account.

2. Select the child for whom you want to configure the School Time settings.

3. On the School Time section, click the settings icon .

4. Next to the Scheduler move the On/Off switch to turn on or turn off School Time.

5. Under Scheduler select the Day and Time that you want to schedule the School Time.

   To set the current schedule for the week, select Apply these settings to all days.

   Press Shift+Click to select a range of hours.

6. Under Web Categories, click on a category to allow or block the categories that the child needs.

7. Under Restricted Websites, enter the URL of the website that you want to block and then click plus icon .
8. Under Allowed Websites, enter the URL of the website that you want to allow and then click plus icon .

9. Click Save.

   At the start of the schedule, the child's device gets a notification that the school time is initiated on the device. Also, once the schedule gets over, the child receives a notification that school time is ended.

Turn off School Time Schedule

1. Sign in to your account.

2. Select the child for whom you want to turn off the School Time schedule.

3. To turn off School Time schedule, on the School Time section move the On/Off switch to Off.

Turn on Instant School Time

1. Open Norton Family parental control app in Parent mode.

2. Under the child name for whom you want to configure the settings, tap Instant School Time.

3. Tap School Time Duration, select the duration, and tap OK and then tap Enable Now.

4. By default, Norton Family allows your child to access only educational web categories and websites. You can allow or block specific web categories or specific websites from the app.

   Tap Allowed or Blocked Content and do one of the following based on your preference:

   • Allow or block web categories: Tap Web categories, and then tap a category to allow or block the categories.

   • Allow websites: Tap Exceptions, next to Allowed Websites, tap Add New and then enter the URL of the website that you want to allow.

   • Block websites: Tap Exceptions, next to Restricted Websites, tap Add New and then enter the URL of the website that you want to block.

5. Tap Save.

6. Tap Enable Now.

Turn off Instant School Time

1. Open Norton Family parental control app in Parent mode.

2. Under the child name for whom you want to disable the School Time settings, tap Instant School Time.

3. Tap Disable.

Schedule School Time

Parents can also use the School Time Scheduler to avoid configuring the settings every day. Norton Family automatically enables the School Time feature for the scheduled time for the selected child account.

1. Open Norton Family parental control app in Parent mode.

2. Select the child for whom you want to configure the School Time settings.

3. Under Supervision, tap House Rules.

4. Tap School Time, and then tap School Time Schedule.

5. On the Schedules screen, tap Add Schedule.

6. In the Add Schedule screen, select the Day and Time that you want to schedule the School Time.

7. Tap OK, and then tap Save.

8. By default, Norton Family allows your child to access only educational web categories and websites. You can allow or block specific web categories or specific websites from the app.

   Tap Allowed or Blocked Content and do one of the following based on your preference:

   • Allow or block web categories: Tap Web categories, and then tap a category to allow or block the categories.

Turn off School Time Schedule

1. Open Norton Family parental control app in Parent mode.

2. Under the child name for whom you want to turn off the School Time schedule, tap Supervision.

3. Tap School Time, and then tap School Time Schedules.

4. To turn off School Time schedule, on the Schedules screen, move the On/Off switch to Off..

Delete School Time Schedule

1. Open Norton Family parental control app in Parent mode.

2. Under the child name for whom you want to delete the School Time schedule, tap Supervision.

3. Tap School Time, and then tap School Time Schedules.

4. On the Schedules screen, swipe right and tap Delete.

5. In the Delete the Schedule screen, tap Delete.

Turn on Instant School Time

1. Open Norton Family parental control app.

2. Under the child name for whom you want to turn on the instant school time, tap Instant School Time.

3. Tap Duration, select the duration, and then tap Enable Now.

4. By default, Norton Family allows your child to access only educational web categories and websites. If you want to allow or block specific web categories or websites, do the following steps:

   • Tap Allowed Web Categories, tap a category to allow or block the categories and then tap Save.

   • Tap Allowed Websites, enter the URL of the website that you want to allow then tap plus icon and tap Save.
   • Tap Restricted Websites, enter the URL of the website that you want to block and then tap plus icon and tap Save.

5. Tap Enable Now.

Turn off Instant School Time

1. Open Norton Family parental control app.

2. Under the child name for whom you want to disable the School Time settings, tap Instant School Time.

3. Tap Disable.

Schedule School Time

Parents can also use the School Time Scheduler to avoid configuring the settings every day. Norton Family automatically enables the School Time feature for the scheduled time for the selected child account.

1. Open Norton Family parental control app.

2. Under the child for whom you want to schedule School Time, under Supervision, tap House Rules.

3. Tap School Time, and then tap School Time Schedule.

4. On the Schedules screen, tap Add Schedule.

5. In the Add Schedule screen, select the Day and Time that you want to schedule the School Time.

6. Tap Save.

   If you want to add the same schedule to all the days, tap more options icon next to the day and tap Apply these settings to all days.

7. At the start of the schedule, the child's device gets a push notification. Also, the house rules under My House Rules section in the side menu updated with School Time Active message.

   Once the schedule is over, the child's device gets a push notification and the message for school time active is removed under the My House Rules section.

Turn off School Time Schedule

1. Open Norton Family parental control app.

2. Under the child for whom you want to turn off School Time schedule, under Supervision, tap House Rules.

3. Tap School Time, and then tap School Time Schedules.

4. To turn off School Time schedule, on the Schedules screen, move the On/Off switch to Off.

Delete School Time Schedule

1. Open Norton Family parental control app.

2. Under the child for whom you want to delete the School Time Schedule, under Supervision, tap House Rules.

3. Tap School Time, and then tap School Time Schedules.

4. On the Schedules screen, swipe right to left on the time schedule that you need to delete and tap Delete.

5. In the confirmation screen, tap Delete.

   To delete all the schedules for a particular day, tap more options icon next to the day and tap Delete all the schedules for day.
