Fix problem opening Norton Secure VPN

Start Norton.

In the My Norton window, under Device Security, click LiveUpdate.

When Norton LiveUpdate is finished, click OK.

Run LiveUpdate until you see the message, "Your Norton product has the latest protection updates."

If prompted, exit all programs, and restart the computer.

If the problem persists, remove and reinstall Norton.

Download the Norton Remove and Reinstall tool.

Save the file to the Windows desktop. In some browsers, the file is automatically saved to its default location.

To open the Downloads window in your browser, press the Ctrl + J key.

Double-click the NRnR icon.

Read the license agreement, and click Agree.

Click Remove & Reinstall.

Click Continue or Remove.

Click Restart Now.

After the computer restarts, follow the on-screen instructions to reinstall Norton. If you have any issues related to Norton installation after the computer restarts, read Download Norton on your device.

Exit all the open programs.

Restart your computer.

If the problem persits, go to Step 3 to uninstall and reinstall Norton Secure VPN.

Press the Windows + R keys to open the Run dialog box.

Type in the following text, and then press Enter.

appwiz.cpl

In the list of currently installed programs, select Norton Secure VPN, and click Remove or Uninstall.

Follow the on-screen instructions to uninstall Norton Secure VPN.

Sign in to Norton.

In the My Norton portal, under Secure VPN, click Download.

Click Agree & Download, and then save the installer.

Double click the installer file that you downloaded.

Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the installation.

Click the Finder icon in the Dock to be in the Finder.

On the menu bar, click Go > Applications to go to the 'Applications' folder.

Click the Norton Secure VPN icon to open it.

Exit all the open programs.

Restart your Mac.

If the problem persists, go to Step 3 to uninstall and reinstall Norton Secure VPN.

Click the Finder icon in the Dock to be in the Finder.

On the menu bar, click Go > Applications to go to the 'Applications' folder.

Drag and drop the Norton Secure VPN app to Trash.

Exit all programs, and restart your Mac.

Sign in to Norton.

In the My Norton portal, under Secure VPN, click Download.

Click Agree & Download, and then save the installer.

Double click the installer file that you downloaded.

Drag the Norton Secure VPN icon into the Applications folder.
