Parental control time limit set for a user in Norton Core reaches earlier than expected

To enforce parental control time limits, Norton Core considers all the network activity to and from the monitored devices. If there is any background app activity on the device, it is counted as network usage, and may result in reaching the time limit early.

To make sure that Norton Core accurately tracks the time limit, follow these best practices to reduce the background app data usage:

  • Turn off background app refresh for the apps that are not needed.

  • Increase the time limit for your kid in Norton Core parental control settings to account for the background app activity.

  • Turn off WiFi when the device is not used.
