Fix incorrect Norton Security status for your device in Norton Core app

Sometimes, Norton Core does not recognize the status of Norton Security that is on your computer or mobile device. You can manually refresh or change the device status in the Norton Core app to show the correct status.

If you have already installed Norton Security on your device and if Norton Core still shows the Norton Security status as 'Not Installed', you can manually change the status to 'Installed'

Manually update the device status

  1. Launch your Norton Core app.

  2. On the top-left corner, tap the menu icon, and then tap Security.

  3. On the Norton Security tab, scroll down and locate your device.

  4. Tap I Have Norton Security Installed.

If you have uninstalled Norton Security from your device, and if Norton Core still shows the Norton Security status as 'Installed', you need to manually refresh the device details.

Refresh the device details

  1. Launch your Norton Core app.

  2. On the top-left corner, tap the menu icon, and then tap Devices.

  3. From the list of devices, select your device.

  4. On the device details screen, tap and pull down the screen to rediscover the device.

  5. Tap Yes to confirm.

  6. Wait for a few seconds while the device details are updated.

Norton Core now displays the correct Norton Security status for your device.
