How do I use Instant Lock?

Instant Lock is not available for iOS devices.

Instant Lock is a Premier feature that lets you lock all of your child's Android devices that are online. Your children cannot use their devices until you unlock them or tell your child the PIN.

To use this feature, you need to set up a PIN and add at least one allowed contact. This helps your child make calls to or receive calls from allowed contacts, even if their time limit has reached or if you lock their device.

If Instant Lock is enabled, the lock icon on your child's profile turns red. If you are a basic user, the lock icon remains greyed out and you must upgrade to a premier account to use this feature.

Use Instant Lock

  1. Sign in to Norton Family

  2. Click the lock icon on your child's profile.

  3. If the PIN window is greyed out, move the On/Off switch to On.

You cannot use Instant Lock if you turn off the PIN.

  4. If you are fine with the PIN and the allowed contacts, click Lock to enable Instant Lock. If you want, you can change the PIN and the allowed contacts by following the steps below.

  5. To see the current PIN, click the eye icon. If you want to change the PIN, click Edit, enter a new 4-digit PIN, and then click Save.

  6. On the Allowed Contacts window, click Manage, add an emergency contact, and then click Save.

You can add up to 6 contacts to the allowed contacts list. You will see this window only if your child is associated with a phone-capable Android device.

  7. Click Lock.

  8. To unlock the devices, click the lock icon on your child's profile again and then click Unlock.
