Message: "A problem occurred while trying to communicate with the server..." when I activate Norton Mobile Security

This problem can occur if your device is connected to a VPN server. To fix this problem, temporarily disable or disconnect the VPN connection on your device and activate Norton Mobile Security again.

If you have Norton WiFi Privacy installed on your device, follow the instructions to turn off Norton WiFi Privacy VPN and register Norton Mobile Security.

STEP 1

Turn off Norton WiFi Privacy

  1. From the Home screen, launch the Norton WiFi Privacy app.

  2. At the bottom of the screen, next to Norton WiFi Privacy, tap the status indicator to turn it off.

STEP 2

Activate Norton Mobile Security

  1. From the Home screen, launch the Norton Mobile Security app.

    Wait for the initial setup to finish.

  2. In the top-left corner, tap the menu icon, and then tap Sign In.

  3. Type your Norton account email address and password, and then tap Sign In.

STEP 3

Turn on Norton WiFi Privacy

  1. From the Home screen, launch the Norton WiFi Privacy app.

  2. At the bottom of the screen, next to Norton WiFi Privacy, tap the status indicator to turn it on.
