Norton Mobile Security installation stops at the "Setting up..." screen

This issue can be caused when the device's language is set to a different English language other than US or UK. Symantec is aware of this problem and is further investigating the issue. Please revisit this article for any updates.

In the mean time, we recommend that you change your device's language settings to set it to English (US) or English (UK) and then install Norton Mobile Security.

STEP 1

Configure Language settings

    If you have Norton Mobile Security installed on your device, make sure that you uninstall it first.

  1. From the Home screen, launch Settings menu, and then go to Language settings.

    Depending on your device and the version of Android OS, you can find the language settings under Language and input or Language & keyboard.

  2. Select your language as English (United States) or English (United Kingdom).

  3. Exit the Settings.

STEP 2

Download and install Norton Mobile Security

  1. Launch your browser, and visit the Norton Mobile Security page.

    You are redirected to the Google Play Store page for Norton Mobile Security. Download the Norton app from Google Play.

  2. When the installation finishes, tap Open.

  3. Read the Norton license agreement, and tap Agree & Launch.

    Norton Mobile Security performs the initial setup and runs LiveUpdate, Anti-Malware scan, and App Adviser scan. When the setup is complete, sign in to your Norton account to make use of all the features of Norton Mobile Security.

  4. In the top-left corner, tap the menu icon and then tap Sign in.

  5. Type your Norton account email address and password, and then tap Sign In.

    Norton Mobile Security installation is now complete. You can follow the instructions in Step 1 and change your device's language back to your preferred language.
