End-of-Life announcement of Norton Tablet Security

Symantec has retired Norton Tablet Security as part of a larger effort to streamline its product offerings. As a result, you will no longer be able to purchase new subscriptions or renew subscriptions for your Norton Tablet Security product starting June 30, 2015. If you have trouble activating your current product, please contact Norton Support. If you've already activated your product, it will continue to operate and be supported until the end of its current subscription.

Please note that Symantec security protection for your Android smartphones and tablets (running Android 2.3 or later) is now available in another form. You can protect your Android mobile devices with Norton Mobile Security.

However, this new product may not work on a small number of older tablets upon which Norton Tablet Security came preinstalled. Unfortunately, Symantec is not offering an alternative product for these tablets.

Among the impacted devices are:

  • Lenovo IdeaPad A1107, A2107, A2109, S2109, S2110

For these devices, we recommend you to disable Norton Tablet Security and remove the Norton Tablet Security icon.

Disable Norton Tablet Security

  1. Tap Options to bring up the menu.

  2. On the Settings screen, tap Manage Apps to check the list of installed apps.

  3. Under the Apps list, in the right-pane, tap Norton Security.

  4. On the App Info screen, tap Disable to disable Norton Security from running on your device.

  5. Tap OK.

  2. Tap the remove option (red X) to remove the Norton Tablet Security icon.
