Norton or Windows Explorer (Norton Backup Drive) crashes when you try to purge, restore, or backup data

This problem has been fixed in the latest version of Norton. To fix this problem, update Norton to the latest version.

STEP 1

Upgrade your Norton

  1. Go to Norton Update Center.

  2. Click Update Me Now.

    If the download does not start automatically, download the program manually.

  3. On the File Download - Security Warning window, click Run.

  4. Follow the on-screen instructions.

    If the problem persists, then go to Step 2.

STEP 2

Update Display drivers

  1. Press the Windows + R keys to open the Run dialog box.

  2. Type in the following text, and then press Enter.

    devmgmt.msc

  3. In the Device Manager window, double-click on Display adapters.

  4. Right-click on the HD graphics card, and select Properties.

  5. On the Driver tab, check whether the graphics card driver is outdated or current.

    If the driver is outdated, you need to update the download and install the latest version of the graphics card driver.

  6. Select your graphics card manufacturer:

  7. Restart the computer
