Message: "Failed to add your Mac to your Norton Management account" when I download my Norton product from Norton Management

You may receive this message when you try to download your Norton product from the Norton Management portal, and the Norton Management client for Mac is downloaded onto your computer. Upon installing the Norton Management client, it tries to bind your Mac to your Norton Management account, and then download the Norton product. However, it fails to bind your Mac and displays this error message.

To fix this problem, follow the instructions to download and install your Norton product.

By design, Norton Internet Security 5 and Norton AntiVirus 12 for Mac cannot be remotely managed through Norton Management portal.

Download and install your Norton product

  1. Depending on your Norton product, download the installation file:

  2. Double-click the file that you downloaded.

    The disk image is mounted.

  3. Double-click the Norton product Installer icon.

  4. Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the installation.
