Message: "Your email attachments are not being scanned for viruses, spyware, and other threats" is displayed on my Norton product

These steps are for the current version of the Norton products. If you have an older version or if you do not know your product version, go to Norton Update Center.

To fix this problem, turn on the Email Antivirus Scan feature in your Norton product.

Enable Antivirus Scan

  1. Start your Norton product.

  2. Click Settings.

  3. Under Detailed Settings, click Antivirus.

  4. On the Scans and Risks tab, if Email Antivirus Scan shows Off, click the status indicator to turn it On.

  5. Click Apply, and then click Close.
