Activation protects you

Product activation initiates your subscription. It ensures that you have a genuine Norton product installed and allows you to receive regular product updates and support. Your Norton product stops working if your trial or subscription period expires. You receive alerts reminding you to activate your product, a few days before it expires.

You can activate your product by:

  • Buying a new subscription

  • Using a product key or code, or

  • Using a subscription license already associated with your Norton account

Your computer must be connected to the Internet to complete the activation. If you have problems with the Internet connection, see Resolve your Internet connection.
