Installation does not complete when I upgrade from Norton Security to Norton Security with Backup

This issue may occur when you upgrade from Norton Security to Norton Security with Backup on a computer which also has a third-party security product installed. This problem normally gets resolved after you restart your computer. If the issue still persists, then remove any third-party security product from your computer.

STEP 1

Restart the computer

  1. Exit all the programs.

  2. Restart the computer.

    If the issue persists, go to Step 2.

STEP 2

Uninstall any non-Symantec security product

    You can also read the program documentation or contact the program manufacturer for instructions to remove a non-Symantec security product from your computer.

  1. Press the Windows + R keys to open the Run dialog box.

  2. Type in the following text, and then press Enter.

    appwiz.cpl

  3. In the list of currently installed programs, select the non-Symantec security product, and then click Uninstall or Remove.

  4. Follow the on-screen instructions.

  5. When the uninstall completes, restart the computer.
