Error: "Email Error: 452..." appears when I send an email in Microsoft Outlook with a Norton product installed

This error appears when you send an email to more than the allowed number of recipients by the service provider. We recommend that you disable outgoing Email Antivirus Scan, send the email, and then turn on outgoing Email Antivirus Scan.

These steps are for the current version of the Norton products. If you have an older version or if you do not know your product version, go to Norton Update Center.

STEP 1

Disable outgoing email scan

  1. Start your Norton product.

  2. Click Settings.

  3. Under Detailed Settings, click Antivirus.

  4. On the Scans and Risks tab, next to Email Antivirus Scan, click Configure.

  5. In the Email Antivirus Scan window, under What to scan, uncheck Scan outgoing email messages.

  6. Click Apply.

  7. In the Security Request window, from the drop-down menu, select Permanently, and then click OK.

  8. In the Email Antivirus Scan window, click OK.

  9. Click Close.

  10. Send the email.

STEP 2

Enable outgoing email scan

  1. Start your Norton product.

  2. Click Settings.

  3. Under Detailed Settings, click Antivirus.

  4. On the Scans and Risks tab, next to Email Antivirus Scan, click Configure.

  5. In the Email Antivirus Scan window, under What to scan, check Scan outgoing email messages.

  6. Click Apply, and then click OK.

  7. Click Close.
