Error: "Please run this program from the Administrator account so it can set up your license. Once the license is set up, you can run it from any account." when I start Norton Utilities 14.0

STEP 1

Uninstall Norton Utilities

  1. Click the Start button, and then click Control Panel.

  2. Depending on your version of Windows, do one of the following:

    • In Windows 7 or Vista, click Uninstall a Program.

    • In Windows XP, double-click Add or Remove Programs.

  3. In the list of currently installed programs, click Norton Utilities, and then click Remove or Uninstall.

  4. Follow the on-screen instructions to uninstall Norton Utilities completely.

    When the uninstall is complete, exit all the programs and restart the computer.

STEP 2

Download and install the latest version of Norton Utilities

  1. Download the latest version of Norton Utilities.

    Save the file on your Windows desktop.

  2. On the Windows desktop, double-click the file that your downloaded.

    If the File Download - Security Warning window appears, click Run.

  3. Click Next.

  4. Read the License Agreement, and then click I accept the agreement.

    You cannot proceed to installation without accepting the License Agreement.

  5. Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the installation.

    After you complete the installation successfully, the Smart Update starts. Download and install all the available updates, and then activate the product when prompted.
