Error: (8920,227) "Norton LiveUpdate was unable to install an update" when I run LiveUpdate in Norton Security Suite or Norton Business Suite

STEP 1

Run LiveUpdate again

  1. Start your Norton product.

  2. Click Tasks.

  3. Under General Tasks, click Run LiveUpdate.

  4. When Norton LiveUpdate is finished, click OK.

  5. Run LiveUpdate until you see the message, "Norton LiveUpdate has successfully completed. Your Norton product now has the latest protection updates."

    If the problem persists, go to Step 2.

STEP 2

Configure LiveUpdate proxy settings

  1. Start your Norton product.

  2. Click Settings.

  3. In the Settings window, click Administrative Settings.

  4. Under Administrative Settings, next to Network Proxy Settings, click Configure.

  5. If you use a proxy server to access the Internet, enter the correct details for Proxy Settings and Authentication.

  6. In the Network Proxy Settings window, click Apply and then Ok.

  7. Run LiveUpdate again.
