Norton rating does not appear next to the search engine results

To fix this problem, run LiveUpdate until no updates are available.

On Mac OS X 10.10.x or later, Safe Search ratings do not appear on search results from third-party search engines such as Google, Yahoo, or Bing. The Safe Search ratings appear only on Norton Safe Search results. However, when you click a link in search results from any of these third-party search engines, Norton Safe Search still protects you and warns you if it is harmful.

If you experience this problem on a Mac OS X 10.9.x or earlier, start Norton, and click LiveUpdate to install all the available updates.

Run LiveUpdate

These steps are for the current version of Norton for Windows. If you have an older version or if you do not know your product version, go to Norton Update Center.

  1. Start Norton.

  2. In the main window, click Security, and then click LiveUpdate.

  3. When Norton LiveUpdate is finished, click OK.

  4. Run LiveUpdate until you see the message, "Your Norton product has the latest protection updates."

  5. Exit all the programs, and restart the computer.
