Error: "Another version of a Norton or Symantec product has been detected on this computer..." when I install Norton Security Suite

If your computer is connected to a corporate or small-business network, and if you have Symantec Endpoint Protection, Symantec AntiVirus Corporate Edition, or Symantec Client Security installed, contact your computer administrator before you install Norton Security Suite. If your computer is not a part of any corporate or small-business network, you can uninstall the Norton or Symantec product from your computer to install Norton Security Suite.

Uninstall Norton product

  1. Press the Windows + R to open the Run dialog box.

  2. Type in the following text, and then press Enter.


  3. In the list of currently installed programs, select the Norton product, and then click Remove or Uninstall.

  4. Follow the on-screen instructions.

  5. When the uninstall completes, restart the computer.
