A Windows user account does not appear when I configure the Norton Family account settings

This problem can happen if the Windows user account is not enabled. Make sure that the Windows user account that you want to associate with a child profile is enabled.

Enable the Windows user account

  1. Press the Windows + R keys to open the Run dialog box.

  2. In the Run dialog box, type the following, and press Enter:


  3. Click the User Accounts icon.

  4. Do one of the following:

    • For Windows XP, skip to line 5.

    • For Windows 7 or Vista, click Manage another account.

      If the User Account Control window appears, click Continue.

  5. Click the Windows user account that you want to enable.

  6. Click Turn On to enable the account.
