Child turns off Norton Family

Norton Family cannot be disabled without parent authorization. If you think that your child knows your Norton Family password, try changing your parent account password. To know more, read: Accessing your Norton account.

Also, if logged on with a user account with admin privileges, your child can disable the Norton Family service. Make sure that your child uses a limited user account.

You can also configure Norton Family to receive an email notification whenever Norton Family is turned off on your child's computer.

Enable notifications

  1. Sign in to the Norton Family website using your email address and password.

  2. In the top-right corner of your Child's tile, click the menu icon.

  3. Click Profile Settings.

  4. On the Activity Notification Settings tab, check the activities that you want to be notified.

  5. If you want to add a new email address to receive notifications, under Do you want to add email address?, type the email address, and then click Add.

  6. Click Save.
