What to do when you see an uncategorized website entry in the Norton Family activity reports

Thousands of new website are created every day. Norton Family team analyzes and groups these website into different categories. The uncategorized website are the ones that are not analyzed and categorized yet.

If you feel that an uncategorized website is safe for your kids, you can allow your kids to view the website. You can also submit the website to Norton Family to have it analyzed and categorized correctly.

Allow or block an uncategorized website and submit the website

  1. Sign in to the Norton Family website using your email address and password.

  2. Under Children, click the child profile icon.

  3. If you are on the Child's House Rules tab, click on Child's Activities tab to view the Activity reports.

  4. Click Web Supervision tile.

  5. On the Web tab, click the website entry that is marked as Uncategorized.

  6. Under What do you want to do?, do one of the following:

    • If you want to allow the access to the website, check Allow your child to view all content on this website.

    • If you want to block the website access, uncheck Allow your child to view all content on this website.

    • If you want to allow the access to all the uncategorized website, unselect the box under Select to allow/block categories this website belongs to:.

  7. Click Save.

  8. To submit the website for categorization, under Category, click Dispute site categorization.

    A new window opens in your browser.

  9. On the window that appears, select the appropriate category.

  10. Type a brief explanation about why the website should be under the category that you selected.

  11. Click Save.
