How to free up disk space using Norton Utilities 14.0

Clean your disk drives

  1. Start Norton Utilities.

    If the User Account Control window appears, click Continue.

  2. In the right pane, click Clean Your Disks.

  3. In the Clean Windows Settings window, uncheck the items which you do not want to delete.

    Under Clean Windows Settings, all the items are selected by default.

  4. In the top toolbar, click Browsers.

  5. Check the items you want to clean.

    By default, only Internet Explorer is selected. If you want to clean the data from other Internet browsers, check the browser name in the left pane.

  6. If you want to keep some cookies, click Select cookies to keep.

    Check the cookies that you wish to skip from being cleaned, click Save.

  7. To delete the files from third party softwares, click Plugins in the top toolbar.

    Check the items you want to clean.

  8. If you want to clean some files which are not listed under any of the options, click Custom Items in the top toolbar.

  9. To add new custom items, click Click here to start Custom Clean Wizard.

    Follow the prompt to add the custom items to clean. If you want these items to be cleaned each time you run the Custom Clean Wizard, click Save.

  10. If you want to bleach the free space on the drives, click Free Space in the top toolbar.

    Check the drives which you want to bleach, click Save.

  11. Click Clean.

    Norton Utilities scans and cleans the files to free the disk space.

  12. Some of the applications need to be restarted to complete the cleaning operation. If you see a prompt to restart the applications, click Restart.

  13. Click Continue.
