Message: "Unicode Version Currently Not Supported" when I start Norton Utilities 14.0


Run Smart Update

  1. Start Norton Utilities.

    If the User Account Control window appears, click Continue.

  2. On the top-right corner of the window, click Smart Update.

  3. Click Next.

    Smart Update connects to the Update Server and checks for available updates.

  4. Click Next.

  5. Click Finish.

    If the problem persists, go to Step 2.


Change Windows language setting to English

  1. Click the Start button, and then click Control Panel.

  2. Double-click Regional and Language Options or Region and Language icon.

  3. Do one of the following:

    • For Windows 7 or Vista: On the Administrative tab, click Change System Locale. From the dropdown box, select English (United States) as the language for non-Unicode programs.

    • For Windows XP: On the Advanced tab, from the drop-down box, select English (United States) as the language for non-Unicode programs

  4. Click Apply, and then click OK.
