How to download and install LiveUpdate

This document is for users of Microsoft Windows. If you use a Macintosh, read: Installing the latest version of LiveUpdate for your Norton product for Mac

Download and install LiveUpdate for Windows Vista/XP/2000

  1. Download the lusetup.exe file for Windows Vista/XP/2000.

  2. Save the file to the Windows desktop.

  3. After the download finishes, double-click the lusetup.exe icon on the desktop to install LiveUpdate.

  4. Start your Norton program.

  5. Click the LiveUpdate button to run LiveUpdate.

  6. Restart your computer.

    If you continue to see an error message after you update to the newest version of LiveUpdate, click the link in the LiveUpdate window again to view the solution to that problem.

Download and install LiveUpdate for Windows Me/98

  1. Download the lusetup.exe file for Windows Me/98.

  2. Save the file to the Windows desktop.

  3. After the download finishes, double-click the lusetup.exe icon on the desktop to install LiveUpdate.

  4. Start your Norton program.

  5. Click the LiveUpdate button to run LiveUpdate.

  6. Restart your computer.

    If you continue to see an error message after you update to the newest version of LiveUpdate, click the link in the LiveUpdate window again to view the solution to that problem.
