Set up and respond to Wi-Fi Security Alerts in Norton 360 app on your mobile device

I have an Android device

Wi-Fi Security feature in Norton 360 app scans the wireless network that your device is connected to, and performs the following security checks:
  • SSL Stripping

  • SSL Decryption

  • ARP Spoofing

  • Password protection

  • Encryption strength

  • Content Tampering

  • DNS Spoofing

  • Suspicious Hardware Detection

  • Evil Twin detection

Based on the security check results, it provides you the recommendations on how to fix the problems that are identified.
Wi-Fi Security automatically performs a security check every time your device connects to a Wi-Fi network. You can also initiate it manually. You can also use the Your Protection Report card to view the number of secure and risky networks that Norton 360 has identified in the last 30 days.

Set up Wi-Fi Security

  1. From the home screen, launch the Norton 360 app.

  2. In the Norton 360 app main screen, tap Security, and then at the top-right corner tap permission_setup icon.

  3. In the Permission Setup screen, tap Get started, and then follow the on-screen instructions.

    The instructions may vary depending on your device, device manufacturer, and operating system.

View and respond to Wi-Fi Security Alerts

  1. From the home screen, launch the Norton 360 app.

  2. If you see the Security option in the Norton 360 app main screen, then tap Security or else go to step 3.

  3. Tap Wi-Fi Security.

  4. Wait for the Wi-Fi Security check to finish. If Wi-Fi Security identifies security risks with the wireless network, read the on-screen recommendations and steps to fix it.

View the Wi-Fi Security protection report card

  1. From the Home screen, launch the Norton 360 app.

  2. On the Norton 360 app main screen, tap and pull up the Your Protection Report option.

  3. Under the Wi-Fi Security section, you can view the number of secure and risky networks that Norton 360 has identified.

I have an iOS device

Wi-Fi Security scans the wireless network that your device is connected to and checks for:
  • SSL Stripping

  • SSL MiTM

  • Content Manipulation

  • Suspicious Network Hardware

  • Hotspot Reputation

Wi-Fi Security automatically performs a security check every time you connect to a Wi-Fi network and recommends solutions to problems it identifies. You can also use the Your Protection Report card to view the number of secure and risky networks that Norton 360 has identified in the last 30 days.

  1. From the Home screen, launch the Norton 360 app.

  2. Tap Security.

  3. Tap Wi-Fi Security, and wait for the Wi-Fi Security check to finish.
