Under certain rare conditions, Microsoft Windows shows a reporting anomaly when Norton products are installed. This anomaly which possibly affects other security products too, blocks the ability of security products to correctly report their status to the Windows Security Center.
Our extensive tests and observations reveal that the Norton products continue to work at full strength, and report their status correctly in the main Norton product window but the Windows Security Center shows conflicting information.
To fix this problem, run LiveUpdate in your Norton product.
These steps are for the current version of the Norton products. If you have an older version or if you do not know your product version, go to Norton Update Center.
Start your Norton product.
In the main window, click, and then click .
When Norton LiveUpdate is finished, click.
Run LiveUpdate until you see the message, "Your Norton product has the latest protection updates."
Exit all the programs, and restart the computer.
