Dark Web Monitoring for EE Cyber Security - UK

Online fraud and data breaches are on the rise. Dark Web Monitoring which is part of your EE Cyber Security Powered by Norton plan is a service that scans for your personal information on hard-to-find dark web sites and private forums where information is traded and sold.

With Dark Web Monitoring, we’ll monitor your personal information on the dark web such as email addresses, bank account numbers, credit card numbers, phone numbers, and driving licence number, and notify you should it be found so you can act fast. To review the notification that you received, go to your account dashboard or mobile app.

Here is a list of information that can be added for monitoring:
  • Driver’s Licence number
  • 5 Insurance accounts or Identification numbers (example medical, home, life)
  • 5 physical addresses
  • 5 email addresses
  • 5 phone numbers
  • 10 credit card numbers
  • 10 bank or investment account numbers
  • 10 gamer tags
  • Mother’s maiden name
We monitor for over 120 different data points on the dark web for a broad range of personal information. This includes employment, medical, and academic information. If we find any of that content connected to the personal information you share with us (bullets listed above), we will notify you. Since most of these 120 data points are not information you share with us, we cannot confirm when we find it linked to your information, if it is actually yours.

Example of some of the 120 data points we search the dark web for beyond the information you provide us:
  • Personal identification – date of birth, passport number
  • Username and passwords – for popular social, email and productivity apps
  • Employment history – salary, title, place of employment
  • Educational background – schools attended, major, graduation year
  • Financial information – banking, financial, credit card, and investment account detail
