Message: "We need permission to remove unnecessary files and finish your update" appears on Mac

This message appears if you have not removed the unnecessary files on your Mac that can impact your Mac's performance. To fix this issue, remove the unnecessary files from your Mac.

1. In the alert message or on the Norton product main window, click See how.

2. Click Open to allow your Norton product to remove unnecessary installation files.

3. Type your Mac administrator account password, and then click Ok.

4. Wait for the Norton product to completely remove the unnecessary files from your Mac.
