Norton product upgrade for Mac

You receive this alert, if a new version of the Norton product is made available by Symantec. You can upgrade your product to the latest version if your subscription is active or expired. Symantec recommends that you have the latest version of the product, as it contains new and enhanced features for better protection against security threats.

Do one of the following:

  • Click the Upgrade option to upgrade your Norton product to the latest version.

  • Click the Remind Me Later option to alert you about the product upgrade later.

You need the Internet to check and upgrade your Norton product to the latest version.

On the completion of upgrade, your subscription status remains the same as your previous version of product. For example, you have 200 days of subscription left with your current version of product and you upgrade your product to the latest version. In this case, the subscription status of your upgraded product remains 200 days only. For the expired product, you can only install the trial version of the latest product. For better protection against security threats, ensure that you activate your product to receive regular product updates and support.

What are the other options available to upgrade my Norton product?

Do LiveUpdate include product upgrades?

Product upgrade is different from the protection updates that are processed by LiveUpdate. The main differences are as follows:

  • Product upgrade lets you download and install a new version of the entire product.

  • Protection updates are the files that keep your Norton product up to date with the latest antithreat technology. In some cases the LiveUpdate includes minor product patch upgrades.
