Fix the connectivity problem if you cannot connect even after disabling Norton

Applicable for: Windows

To fix this problem, uninstall and reinstall your Norton product.

STEP 1

Uninstall your Norton product

  1. Press the Windows + R to open the Run dialog box.

  2. Type in the following text, and then press Enter.

    appwiz.cpl
  3. In the list of currently installed programs, select your Norton product, and then click Remove or Uninstall.

  4. Follow the on-screen instructions.

  5. When the uninstall completes, restart the computer.

  6. After you restart the computer, check if you can connect to the Internet. If the problem persists, we recommend that you contact your service provider and report the problem.

STEP 2

Reinstall your Norton product

If you have received your Norton product from a service provider, then read Install Norton from your service provider.

  1. Sign in to your account.

  2. If you are not signed in to Norton already, you will be prompted to sign in. Type in your email address and password for Norton, and click Sign In.

    If you do not have an account, click Create an account, and then complete the sign-up process.

  3. In the Get Started window, click Download Norton.

    If you want to install a new product which is not registered to your Norton account, click Enter a New Product Key.

    Type the product key and click >. Follow the on-screen instructions to activate the product.

  4. Click Agree and Download.

  5. Do one of the following depending on your browser:

    • For Windows: Press Ctrl + J key, to open the Downloads window in your browser, and double-click the file that you downloaded.

    • For Mac: Press Command + Option + L, to open the Downloads window in your browser, and double-click the file that you downloaded.

  6. If the User Account Control window appears, click Continue.

    Follow the on-screen instructions.
