The Cloud Cleaner feature in Norton Utilities Ultimate helps you reclaim valuable cloud space from your Google Drive, Dropbox, or Microsoft OneDrive easily. It scans your cloud drive and quickly lets you know how much space you can free up from your cloud drive1.

Cloud Cleaner helps identify:

  • Duplicate files: Helps find duplicate files that you may have got saved in multiple folders or dates. You can remove them to make more space. You can filter duplicate files by their type: Documents, Images, Videos, Songs, and Other.

  • Large files: Helps find files larger than 25 MB. You can sort the files by size, type, or date of the last change, and consider deleting them to free up cloud drive space.

  • Old files: Helps find files that were modified more than a year ago. You can sort them by type or size. You can get rid of these leftover files and save additional space.

Windows

  1. Open Norton Utilities Ultimate.

  2. On the main menu, click Clean Junk.

  3. In the Clean Junk window, click the Cloud Cleaner tab.

  4. Click Get Started.

  5. In the window that appears, click Connect for the cloud storage account on which you want to organize and free up more storage space.

  6. Based on the cloud storage account you select, do the following:

    • Google Drive: Click Sign in with Google > choose the Google account that you want to use > click Allow access.

    • Microsoft OneDrive: Click Sign in with Microsoft > sign in with your Microsoft account > click Allow access.

    • Dropbox: Click Continue > sign in with your Dropbox account > click Continue > click Allow.

  7. Click Start Scan.

    Wait for the scan to complete.

  8. After the scan is complete, click Review to review the duplicate files, large files, and old files.

  9. Select the files that you want to remove, and click Remove.

    The corresponding cloud storage services that you use retains the removed files in your Trash folder for 30 days. After which the files are then permanentely deleted. If you want to regain cloud space immediately, you can empty the Trash folder.

Mac

  1. Open Norton Utilities Ultimate.

  2. Click Cloud Cleaner > Get Started.

  3. Based on the cloud storage account you select, sign in with your cloud account credentials and wait for the scan to complete.

  4. After the scan is complete, click Review to review the duplicate files, large files, and old files.

  5. Select the files that you want to remove and click Remove.

    The corresponding cloud storage services that you use retain the removed files in your Trash folder for 30 days. After which, the files are then permanently deleted. If you want to regain cloud space immediately, you can empty the Trash folder.

What permissions are needed to analyze Google Drive?

Cloud Cleaner needs several access permissions to analyze your Google Drive. We do not link your Google account to your Norton account in any way. Each connection lasts for a single session, ending when you're done.
